About the Repository

General

Goldsmiths Data Online is part of Goldsmiths 'Online Research Collections' (ORC) which also includes Goldsmiths Research Online (GRO) (research publications and outputs repository), Goldsmiths Journals Online (open access journals and conference proceedings) and Goldsmiths Digital Archives (digital archival materials hosted at Goldsmiths)

Purpose

Goldsmiths research data catalogue is open to Goldsmiths academics and is primarily intended to hold information about research data produced during research projects funded by RCUK and others. It holds information about the open access status of research data and links to data archives where materials are held. It may also be used to hold smaller data sets which are available for public access.

Research Data Management Policy

The repository ran in pilot phase from May 2013 - June 2014. More information about Goldsmiths' Research Data Management Policy can be found here.

Technical details

This site is powered by EPrints 3, free software developed by the University of Southampton.

The Goldsmiths research data catalogue is an EPrints repository adapted for research data with the ReCollect plugin with expanded metadata profile for describing research data (based on DataCite, INSPIRE and DDI standards) and a redesigned data catalogue for presenting complex collections. ReCollect was developed by the UK Data Archive and the University of Essex as part of the JISC MRD Research Data@Essex project and available through the EPrints Bazaar.
